This document reports on the hundreds of Lebanese, Jordanian and Palestinian nationals who remain in detention as political prisoners in Syria. Most were detained during the Lebanese civil war (1975-90) or the conflict with the PLO during the 1980s. Many were arbitrarily arrested or "disappeared". Amnesty International calls upon the Syrian authorities to review these cases with a view to releasing all those not given prompt and fair trials
