Sierra Leone: Shadow Report submitted to the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights

This shadow report contains background information in advance of the review of Sierra Leone’s first periodic report at the 57th Ordinary Session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights. This report focuses on key recent human rights issues of concern to Amnesty International relating to Sierra Leone’s implementation of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights, in particular in relation to police use of arbitrary and excessive force, conditions in detention centres, freedom of expression and peaceful assembly, abolition of the death penalty, right to education and discrimination against women and girls.
