Angående förfrågan om behandling av post traumatisk stressyndrom (PTSD) och psykos

Ambassaden har konsulterat WHO i Belgrad i anledning av ovan nämnd förfrågan och erhållit följande svar från dem.

I have inquired with the Institute of Neurology, and with the Institute of Mental Health in Belgrade about the possibilities for treatment of patients with PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).

PTSD is being treated in Serbia, and the best place is the Institute for Mental Health of the City of Belgrade, which has available, counselling, pyscho-therapy, group-therapy etc. I will receive a full description on Monday, from the Head of the Serbian Commission for Mental Health which has an advisory role to the Ministry of Health.

However, it is difficult to say whether such treatment would be available (and where) outside of Serbia, as there are no national protocols for treatment, although intensive workshops were held for most of the pscyhitrists. As far as psycho-farmaca are concerned, all drugs recommended by WHO are on the positive list (reimbursable drugs through health insurance i.e. free of charge if prescribed by the public health doctors). It may happen that they are not known under the same brand name as in other countries, or that not all preparations from one category of drugs are available, but the essential drugs are available. In case of sophisticated, very modern or new drugs, they are usually available through private pharmacies, but as the guide for the reimbursable list is the WHO recommended essential drugs, they are usually too expensive for the social insurance and can be purchased but only with full payment.

If you are interested in a specific drug we can check whether it is on the list and whether it is available. Availability also depends on state pharmacies (for out-patients) as state pharmacies purchase drugs that are demanded by patients, so it may happen that a drug cannot be at all time be found in all pharmacies.

Det bör noteras vad som anges om olika mediciner i svaret då förfrågan från Migrationsverket "endast innehåller namnen, ej innehållet, på de läkemedel som patienten medicineras med i Sverige. Dessa läkemedelsnamn utelämnades medvetet av ambassaden vid kontakt med WHO och fråga ställdes endast om det fanns tillgängliga mediciner för behandling av depression och psykos i Serbien och Montenegro.
